The One Where I Upgrade

I don't really know if it's conventional to blog about new cameras and such, but I feel like a proud mama right now and I want to take a second to brag about what I just got from UPS this morning:

Granted, I really wanted to wait a while and save up a pretty little Mark 5D II, but I really needed an upgrade. After all the wonderful times my XTi and I have had, I have to say I was waiting for (and dreading)  the day it would have to be serviced. Let's be honest, I won't have the money to do that when it happens. So I decided to upgrade while I could.

This little baby is perfect. I'm still working out the settings and such. It's not much different than the XTi in terms of where things are at, but I was so used to the settings I had on my XTi and now I feel like I'm having to relearn everything! But overall (and in just one day's time together) I'm happy with it. Plus, the sound the shutter makes leaves me feeling all giddy. :)

My XTi? Well, I thought about selling it, but it would feel like selling my child or worse...an organ. I can't do that. So, I think it will serve as a wonderful backup camera (which I desperately needed, anyway).
